The General Civil Aviation Authority has announced the temporary and full closure of the country’s airspace to ensure the safety of flights, air crews, and national territory.

According to state media reports, the aviation authority said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding civil aviation operations across the United Arab Emirates.

The regulator noted that the move forms part of broader safety protocols designed to protect aircraft and passengers, while maintaining the security of the country’s airspace.

Airlines and relevant aviation stakeholders have been notified of the directive, with flight operations expected to remain suspended within the affected airspace until further notice.

Authorities have not yet provided a timeline for the reopening of the airspace but indicated that updates would be communicated as the situation develops.
