Ogun State will host the inaugural flight for Nigeria’s 2026 Hajj airlift operation on May 3, marking the official commencement of the pilgrimage exercise.

Vice President Kashim Shettima will formally inaugurate the ceremony at the Gateway International Airport, Ogun State.

The inaugural flight will signal the beginning of the nationwide airlift of intending pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with subsequent flights scheduled to follow from designated departure centres across the country.

The development underscores ongoing preparations by relevant authorities to ensure a seamless and coordinated Hajj operation for Nigerian pilgrims in 2026.
