Additional 2027 Hajj Slots Not for Fresh Registration — Sokoto PWA

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has clarified that the additional slots allocated to the state for the 2027 Hajj are not open to fresh applicants.
The clarification followed reports and rumours suggesting that the Agency had commenced a new registration exercise for the 2027 pilgrimage.
In a statement signed by its Head of Information and Communications, Faruku Umar, the Agency said the additional slots were allocated by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) specifically to intending pilgrims who had already paid their Hajj fares but could not secure registration because the available slots had been exhausted.
The Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, explained that the additional allocation was intended to accommodate eligible intending pilgrims who had made payments before the initial quota became unavailable.
He stressed that the allocation should not be interpreted as an opportunity for new applicants to register for the 2027 Hajj.

“Members of the public, particularly intending pilgrims, should disregard rumours and unverified information suggesting that the Agency has commenced new registration for the 2027 Hajj,” the statement said.
The Agency urged prospective pilgrims to rely only on official announcements from the Sokoto PWA and NAHCON for accurate information on registration, slot allocation and other arrangements for the 2027 Hajj.
Aliyu assured the public that the Agency remained committed to ensuring a transparent, orderly and credible Hajj process.
He also appealed for the cooperation and understanding of intending pilgrims as preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage continue.
