Saudi Arabia has pledged to ensure a safe and high-quality Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims, strengthening cooperation on Hajj and Umrah operations.

Speaking during a historic engagement, the Kingdom’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, highlighted close coordination with Nigerian authorities.

“This collaboration ensures smooth pilgrim operations, enhances safety, and improves the quality of services for all Nigerian pilgrims,” Dr. Al-Rabiah said.

In 2025, Saudi Arabia hosted approximately 89,000 Nigerian Umrah pilgrims, 92 percent of whom arrived on official Umrah visas.

Direct flights for Nigerian pilgrims reached around 420 departures through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, reflecting expanded logistical support.

Dr. Al-Rabiah said preparations for the 2026 Hajj season focus on operational readiness, procedural efficiency, and enhanced safety measures.

The Kingdom is also supporting awareness campaigns like “No Hajj without a Permit,” encouraging pilgrims to comply with regulations.

“Continued joint coordination will elevate the experience of Nigerian pilgrims and strengthen our institutional cooperation,” he added confidently.

The visit reinforces decades-long Nigeria–Saudi Arabia ties, rooted in faith, cultural links, and shared commitment to serving the Guests of Allah.

Both countries agreed to sustain collaboration, streamline Hajj procedures, and protect the welfare of tens of thousands of Nigerian pilgrims traveling in 2026.
