The Hajj and Umrah Tour Operators Association of Nigeria (HUTON) has unveiled its Kano zone as part of efforts to strengthen the coordination of pilgrimage operations, improve service delivery and make tour operations easier for members and intending pilgrims.

The National President of HUTON, Alhaji Muhammad Auwal Suleiman, said the association was committed to supporting its members, promoting accountability and providing a platform for addressing complaints arising from their operations.

Alhaji Suleiman explained that the association had established a website where members could register, obtain certificates and submit complaints, providing a more organised system for monitoring activities and resolving issues within the sector.

He urged members to cooperate with the association and work collectively to achieve its objectives, stressing that unity, mutual understanding and compliance with established responsibilities were essential to the success of Hajj and Umrah businesses.

The president added that HUTON would continue to fulfil its responsibilities and address members’ concerns, assuring them that the association would remain committed to its mandate within the stipulated period for the process.

Speaking at the event, the association’s Vice President, Alhaji Abdul’azze Haliru, founder of Soli Air Service, who will lead the Kano zone, called for unity and cooperation among members to strengthen the association and improve the conduct of pilgrimage-related businesses.

Alhaji Haliru said the new zone was expected to bring operators closer to the association’s leadership, encourage collective decision-making and provide a platform for discussing challenges affecting their businesses.

“We expect your support and cooperation. Let us come together as one family, discuss our concerns and make decisions collectively. With unity, understanding and mutual support, we believe that we will succeed,” he said.

He also prayed for God’s blessings on members’ businesses and safe journeys for participants returning to their respective destinations, expressing optimism that the new zone would contribute to the growth and success of HUTON’s activities.

The establishment of the Kano zone is expected to strengthen the association’s presence in the state and enhance engagement with tour operators while promoting better coordination and accountability in Hajj and Umrah services.
