Hajj 2026: Bauchi Gov’t, Board Awarded for Service Delivery

Bauchi State Government and the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board have been recognised for their contributions to effective service delivery and improved pilgrims’ welfare during the 2026 Hajj operation.
The recognition was announced at a special ceremony organised by the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) at the National Mosque Conference Hall, Abuja.
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, received the “Pillar of Hajj Support Award” in recognition of his administration’s commitment, financial support and interventions aimed at improving Hajj operations and the welfare of pilgrims from the state.
The organisers said the award acknowledged the governor’s sustained support for the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and his efforts towards ensuring better services and improved comfort for pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
Also honoured was the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr Imam Abdulrahman Ibrahim Idris (Dujinma Bauchi), who received the “Best Performing State Executive Secretary” award.

The award recognised his leadership and coordination of Hajj activities, particularly efforts to enhance efficient service delivery to Bauchi pilgrims throughout the 2026 exercise.
Speaking after receiving the award on behalf of Governor Mohammed and the Bauchi State Government, Idris expressed appreciation to IHR for the recognition.
He said the honour would encourage the board and other stakeholders to sustain efforts towards delivering quality, transparent and efficient Hajj services.
Idris attributed the success of the 2026 Hajj operation to the support of the state government, the commitment of the board and cooperation among stakeholders involved in the exercise.
He specifically commended Governor Mohammed for his consistent support, saying the administration’s commitment had contributed significantly to improving Hajj operations and pilgrims’ welfare in Bauchi State.
The executive secretary also thanked Almighty Allah for the successful completion of the Hajj exercise, describing the recognition as an additional motivation for the state to improve its services.
He said the awards would strengthen the resolve of the government and the board to sustain reforms and interventions designed to improve pilgrims’ welfare, comfort and overall Hajj experience.
