The Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully completed the movement of its 1,565 intending pilgrims from the holy city of Medina to Mecca ahead of the main 2026 Hajj rites.

The Public Relation Officer of the board, Abdulrazaq Muhammad disclosed that the pilgrims spent four days in Medina, where they engaged in prayers and paid visits to the Prophet’s Raudah (Riyaad-ul-Jannah) as part of their spiritual preparation for the pilgrimage.

Muhammad stated that officials conducted the movement exercise smoothly and without any hitch.

Speaking on the development, the Executive Secretary of the board, Mallam Idris Ahmed Almakura, commended the pilgrims for their discipline, patience and cooperation throughout the exercise.

He urged them to maintain the same spirit of orderliness, avoid unnecessary disagreements, and remain fully devoted to acts of worship as they prepare for the symbolic standing at Mount Arafat, which marks the peak of the Hajj rites.

Almakura also assured that authorities have made adequate arrangements for accommodation and feeding in Mecca to ensure a smooth and hitch-free Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Nasarawa State.
