Adamawa Hajj Commission Urges Unsuccessful Applicants to Prepare for 2028

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, has urged intending pilgrims who could not secure seats for the 2027 Hajj to begin preparations for the 2028 exercise.

Salihu made the appeal during an appearance on Taba Kidi, Taba Karatu, a Hausa programme on ABC Yola.

He disclosed that the Commission had completed the allocation of 2027 Hajj seats across the state’s 21 local government areas in line with the quota allocated to Adamawa State by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to him, demand for Hajj seats has exceeded the available allocation, leaving some intending pilgrims unable to secure places for the 2027 pilgrimage.

He explained that the Commission could not allocate seats beyond the number officially approved for the state, urging those affected to remain patient and accept the situation.

“The Commission has no power to increase the number of seats beyond what has been officially allocated to the state. I want to appeal to those who could not get seats this year to be patient and take it as the will of Allah,” he said.

To improve their chances of securing seats in the next exercise, Salihu advised unsuccessful applicants to enrol in the Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) by opening accounts through their respective local government schedule officers.

He said early enrolment and consistent preparation would help intending pilgrims position themselves for consideration during the 2028 Hajj allocation.

“This is the time to start preparing for 2028. I encourage those who missed out to go to their Local Government Schedule Officers and open their Hajj Savings Scheme account now. By doing so, they will be given priority when allocation for next year begins,” he stated.

The Acting Chairman also announced that the Saudi Arabian authorities had introduced a requirement for 2027 intending pilgrims to pay for Hadaya (ritual sacrifice) exclusively through the NUSUK Masar platform.

He noted that payment through the designated platform had become a compulsory requirement for visa processing.

The radio programme formed part of the Commission’s grassroots public enlightenment campaign aimed at keeping intending pilgrims informed about Hajj arrangements, policies and requirements.
