A cleaner at Yola International Airport, Tabawa Isa, demonstrated ethical compliance after discovering $500 in a restroom facility during routine duties.

She secured the cash and reported it to pilgrimage authorities for documentation, verification, and safeguarding in line with lost-and-found protocols.

Following standard verification procedures, officials traced the rightful owner of the funds and ensured full restitution without delay, reinforcing confidence in airport’s lost-and-found accountability systems

The act strengthens operational transparency within pilgrimage support logistics across key transit hubs in the region.

Authorities described the act as a model of integrity and civic responsibility, noting that such conduct strengthens public trust in frontline airport personnel.

It also supports the broader compliance culture within aviation support operations, particularly in high-traffic travel environments where accountability and rapid response are critical to service delivery outcomes.

In a related development during ongoing Hajj operations, Air Peace representative Mohammed Sani Muhyiddeen facilitated the recovery of $600 and 100 Saudi Riyals belonging to pilgrim, Billisu Lawal after she mistakenly left the funds on a second FCT Hajj flight.

The recovery followed reporting, verification of ownership, and secure handling under protocols, with swift intervention reinforcing operational responsiveness within the Hajj airlift framework.

The handover was formally witnessed by officials of the Federal Capital Territory, underscoring accountability frameworks and coordination among aviation stakeholders and pilgrimage administrators in safeguarding pilgrims’ assets throughout the airlift process.

The exercise reinforced institutional commitment to transparency, timely dispute resolution, and strict adherence to operational ethics across all stages of pilgrimage logistics.
