The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a change in the departure date for the inaugural airlift of intending pilgrims from the state to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the inaugural flight earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, has been rescheduled to Friday, May 15, 2026.

According to him, the rescheduling followed recent adjustments in flight arrangements by Max Air.

The Board stated that the adjustment affects intending pilgrims from Gwale, Dala, Fagge, and Ungogo Local Government Areas, who are scheduled to depart on May 14.

It advised the affected pilgrims to take note of the new departure date and comply with subsequent reporting instructions and schedules as directed by the Board.

According to the statement, Max Air expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the adjustment and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the affected pilgrims.

The Board further assured intending pilgrims that necessary arrangements have been concluded to ensure a smooth and hitch-free airlift operation for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

It also pledged to continue providing timely updates and relevant information to all pilgrims as preparations for the pilgrimage progress.
