NAHCON Deploys Advance Team to Saudi Arabia Ahead of 2026 Hajj

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has deployed its advance team to Saudi Arabia as part of the ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.
The team departed Nigeria to finalise critical arrangements ahead of the arrival of Nigerian pilgrims, whose airlift is scheduled to commence on May 3, 2026.
According to the Commission, the advance team is tasked with coordinating key logistics, including accommodation, transportation, feeding services, and other essential support systems in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
The deployment forms part of NAHCON’s strategy to ensure seamless operations and improve the overall welfare of Nigerian pilgrims throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the development, the Director of Da’awa at the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Imam Aminu Hassan, who is among the officials on the mission, said the move would facilitate effective coordination with Saudi authorities and service providers.
He noted that the engagement is expected to ensure that all necessary facilities and services are in place before the arrival of the first batch of pilgrims.
Hajj Gazette reports that over 50,000 Nigerian pilgrims are expected to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.
