The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has conducted a pre-Hajj medical screening exercise for intending pilgrims across the state.

The screening is part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, with the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, taking the lead in overseeing the exercise.

The exercise was carried out across the three senatorial districts in the state, Edo South, Edo Central, and Edo North, to ensure broad coverage and easy access for all registered intending pilgrims.

Officials of the Board described the exercise as a critical health requirement for the pilgrimage, emphasizing its importance in assessing and safeguarding the wellbeing of intending pilgrims throughout the journey.

During the exercise, the Board deployed medical teams across the districts to ensure a smooth process, while they attended to participants in an orderly and coordinated manner.

The Board commended the level of compliance recorded during the exercise and urged intending pilgrims to conduct themselves responsibly as the departure date draws nearer.

The Board further reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful 2026 Hajj operation, with the safety and wellbeing of Edo State pilgrims as a top priority.
