The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has adopted the uniform registration timeline issued by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the 2027 Hajj, directing intending pilgrims to complete registration within the approved national schedule.

The Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, announced the position during a meeting to review and strengthen preparations for the 2027 Hajj operation.

Musa said NAHCON had directed all State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions to operate within a uniform registration timeline to ensure effective coordination and allow sufficient time for states to complete critical Hajj arrangements.

He identified September 26, 2026, as the deadline for Hajj registration and warned that the Agency would not accept registrations after the stipulated date.

The Chairman urged intending pilgrims to register and complete payment requirements early to avoid last-minute challenges and the possibility of losing the opportunity to participate in the 2027 Hajj.

The timeline also provides for the uploading of intending pilgrims’ data to the Masar Nusuk platform from August 14, 2026.

Meanwhile, agreements covering Mina tents, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, transportation and catering opened on the platform on July 29.

The Agency said airlift agreements must be concluded by November 8, 2026, further underscoring the need for states to comply with the coordinated timetable.

Musa said the uniform registration schedule would help align Sokoto’s preparations with NAHCON’s national framework and deadlines set by the Saudi authorities.

He also advised intending pilgrims not to wait until the final days of registration, recalling the challenges associated with late registration during the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Sokoto intending pilgrims can register at the Agency’s headquarters and designated Local Government Hajj registration centres.

Musa assured pilgrims that the Agency would continue working with NAHCON and other relevant authorities to ensure timely, transparent and effective preparations for the 2027 Hajj.
