2027 Hajj: Saudi Committee Targets Higher Service Readiness

Saudi Arabia has stepped up preparations for the 2027 Hajj season, with the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah reviewing operational plans, new projects and service improvements aimed at raising the standard of care for pilgrims.
The committee’s meeting, held on Tuesday, was chaired by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region and Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Committee, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, under the directives of the Governor and Chairman of the committee, Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz.
The meeting focused on preparations for the 2027 Hajj (1448 AH) season with the committee placing emphasis on stronger coordination among government agencies and other entities responsible for Hajj operations.
Prince Saud stressed the need to strengthen integration among relevant entities and continue developing performance indicators in line with the directives of the Saudi leadership.
He also called for the highest levels of preparedness ahead of the next Hajj season, stressing that effective coordination and operational readiness are essential to enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease, safety and peace of mind.

The committee reviewed performance indicators of entities involved in Hajj operations and examined mechanisms for improving coordination among the various sectors supporting the pilgrimage.
It also discussed measures to enhance direct communication between participating agencies to strengthen operational efficiency, improve response mechanisms and ensure seamless delivery of services to pilgrims.
Beyond operational coordination, the committee reviewed plans and arrangements for the 1448 AH Hajj season, including new projects and services designed to improve the pilgrimage experience.
The meeting also assessed the ongoing Umrah season, reviewing services provided to Umrah performers from their arrival in Saudi Arabia until their departure to their home countries.
The early planning signals Saudi Arabia’s continued emphasis on integrated, performance-driven Hajj management, with authorities seeking to address operational requirements well ahead of the arrival of international pilgrims for the 2027 pilgrimage.
