2027 Hajj: NAHCON Takes New Saudi Policies to Sokoto Gov’t

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has taken its enlightenment campaign on the new Saudi Arabian Hajj policies and deadlines to the Sokoto State Government ahead of the 2027 pilgrimage.
A delegation comprising members of the NAHCON Board and senior staff paid a sensitisation visit to the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Idris Muhammad Gobir, as part of efforts to ensure that the state is adequately briefed on the latest requirements for the forthcoming Hajj operation.
The engagement was aimed at creating greater awareness of the new policies and timelines introduced by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, while strengthening coordination between NAHCON and the state authorities.
During the visit, the NAHCON delegation emphasised the importance of strict compliance with the stipulated guidelines and deadlines to facilitate smooth planning and implementation of the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The sensitisation is part of NAHCON’s broader stakeholder engagement ahead of the pilgrimage, particularly as Saudi Arabia continues to introduce stricter timelines and digital processes for the organisation of Hajj.
The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency said the visit would help deepen understanding of the new requirements and support effective preparations by the state ahead of the 2027 Hajj.
