2026 Hajj: Yobe Commission Launches 2026 Hajj Enlightenment Exercise

The Yobe State Pilgrims Commission has launched its 2026 Hajj enlightenment exercise, signaling the formal start of preparations for intending pilgrims across the state.
The exercise, which was officially launched in Damaturu, is designed to provide comprehensive guidance and operational clarity ahead of the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The Information and Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Suleiman Alhaji Sabo confirmed the development in a statement issued in Damaturu.
According to him, while speaking at the inauguration, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, underscored the importance of the excerise, describing it as a critical success factor for the overall Hajj operation.
He noted that the programme delivers structured briefings on core Hajj rites, travel logistics, health protocols and expected conduct throughout the pilgrimage period.
According to him, the sessions are tailored to eliminate knowledge gaps, enhance compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure that pilgrims perform their religious obligations in strict accordance with Islamic principles.
“The enlightenment programme provides essential information on Hajj rites, travel guidelines, health precautions and general conduct throughout the pilgrimage,” he said.
Alhaji Mai Aliyu further emphasized that the training serves as the foundational framework for spiritual and administrative readiness.
He explained that adequate orientation reduces operational bottlenecks, strengthens coordination and enhances the overall experience of pilgrims during their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The chairman also issued a compliance advisory to intending pilgrims, urging them to settle outstanding payment balances within the stipulated timeline to avoid last-minute disruptions.
He stressed the non-negotiable requirement of completing all approved vaccinations, directing pilgrims to adhere strictly to immunization protocols at designated Hajj centres across the state.
The enlightenment exercise is expected to continue across various local government areas, forming part of the strategy by the Commission to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated and spiritually rewarding 2026 Hajj exercise for pilgrims from the state.
