2026 Hajj: Taraba Secures Visas for Over 80% of Intending Pilgrims

The Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has recorded substantial progress in visa processing for the 2026 Hajj.
According to the board, more than 80 per cent of its registered intending pilgrims already cleared for travel.
In an update issued by the board’s Assistant Director Information, Malam Muri, the Board disclosed that its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) unit confirmed the successful processing and receipt of visas for approximately 540 out of the 750 registered pilgrims for the exercise.
The development signals a significant milestone in the state’s Hajj preparation cycle, positioning Taraba among states making early headway in securing travel documentation for their contingents.
The Board noted that the pace of issuance reflects a coordinated operational framework aimed at meeting all regulatory timelines set by the relevant authorities.
Officials said the ongoing visa rollout underscores Nigeria’s strategic commitment to eliminating last-minute bottlenecks and ensuring seamless participation of pilgrims in the 2026 pilgrimage.
While the majority of visas have already been received, the Taraba Board assured that efforts are being intensified to conclude the remaining processing within the stipulated timeframe.
It reiterated its resolve to maintain proactive engagement with stakeholders to guarantee smooth logistics and compliance with international travel protocols.
Further briefings are expected in the coming weeks as preparations for the 2026 Hajj advance toward the airlift phase.
