2026 Hajj: Nigerian Pilgrims Begin Receiving Visas as Deadline Nears

The processing and issuance of visas for the 2026 Hajj has commenced for Nigerian pilgrims, with several states already receiving the approved travel documents.
Authoritative sources within state pilgrims’ boards disclosed that batches of visas have started arriving, signaling the formal take-off of the final phase of preparations for this year’s pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Officials said the early arrival of visas in some states reflects progress made in the submission of required data and compliance with medical and administrative guidelines earlier issued to intending pilgrims.
Stakeholders in the Hajj industry described the commencement of visa issuance as a critical milestone, noting that it provides clarity for airlift scheduling and other logistical arrangements, including accommodation and transportation in Saudi Arabia.
However, authorities are urging pilgrims who are yet to finalize their documentation to do so without delay to avoid last-minute bottlenecks. State pilgrims’ boards are expected to intensify coordination efforts to ensure that all eligible applicants meet the requirements before the closing date.
The visa window is a decisive stage in Hajj operations, as failure to secure approval within the stipulated timeframe could automatically disqualify affected applicants from participating in the 2026 pilgrimage.
