2026 Hajj: Governor Bala, Wife Extend Support to Pilgrims
By Ibrahim Tijjani Aisami
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State and his wife, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, have extended financial and material support to pilgrims from the state who participated in the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The gesture benefited all 2,090 pilgrims from Bauchi State, who just completed the Hajj rites and are preparing to return to Nigeria.
As part of the support, Governor Bala approved the distribution of 300 Saudi Riyals to each pilgrim to assist them with personal expenses before their departure from Saudi Arabia.
The intervention is in line with the administration’s tradition of providing welfare support to Bauchi pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage.
In addition to the cash assistance, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed distributed blankets and prayer mats to the pilgrims. The governor’s wife, who participated in this year’s Hajj, personally supervised the distribution of the items.
Although Governor Bala Mohammed was unable to perform Hajj this year due to engagements at home, the support package was delivered on his behalf to ensure that pilgrims continued to benefit from the state’s welfare initiatives.
Addressing the pilgrims, state officials urged them to remain steadfast in prayer and continue to offer supplications for peace, unity and economic prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
Among those who conveyed goodwill messages were the Amirul Hajj and Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman, the Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, and the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Nuru Adamu Jumba.
Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed also appealed to the pilgrims to remember Nigerian youths in their prayers, seeking divine guidance, gainful employment opportunities and beneficial knowledge for the younger generation.
The pilgrims expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as a demonstration of care and commitment to their welfare. They also offered prayers for Governor Bala Mohammed, his family and the continued progress of Bauchi State.
