2026 Hajj: Adamawa Begins Return Logistics as Pilgrims Receive Luggage Bags

The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has commenced arrangements for the return of its pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of the final phase of its 2026 Hajj operations.
As part of the preparations, the Commission has begun distributing luggage bags to pilgrims to facilitate the safe and orderly transportation of their belongings ahead of their departure for Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Mikail Danjuma Mubi.
According to him, Chairman of the Commission, Mallam Abubakar Gurin, said the exercise forms part of a strategy aimed at ensuring a seamless return journey for all Adamawa pilgrims after the completion of Hajj rites.
Speaking through the Chairman of the Pilgrims’ Luggage Committee, Mallam Salihu Abubakar Sadiq, Gurin disclosed that each pilgrim would receive two luggage bags, each with a carrying capacity of 23 kilograms.
He explained that the distribution was designed to help pilgrims properly package their belongings and comply with airline baggage requirements before the commencement of return flights.
The Commission directed Schedule Officers from both the headquarters and HSS units to ensure the timely collection and transparent distribution of the bags to all pilgrims under their supervision.
Salihu also urged pilgrims to strictly adhere to approved luggage regulations, noting that no bag should exceed the maximum permissible weight of 24 kilograms as stipulated by airlines operating the return airlift.
According to him, any luggage found to be above the approved limit may be opened and repacked before departure to ensure compliance and prevent operational delays during the airlift process.
He commended the pilgrims for their patience, discipline, cooperation and support throughout the Hajj exercise, describing their conduct as instrumental to the success of the state’s operations in the Holy Land.
The committee chairman further prayed for Allah to accept the pilgrims’ acts of worship and grant them safe journeys back home.
The luggage distribution exercise is taking place in Makkah as Adamawa joins other Nigerian states in intensifying preparations for the return of pilgrims following the completion of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
