Sokoto Records Smooth Progress in 2027 Hajj E-Registration

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has recorded significant progress in the electronic registration of intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj, with the uploading of e-passports proceeding smoothly.
The agency said the exercise was being conducted in line with the directives and timelines established for the 2027 Hajj operation, as registration officials work to ensure that eligible intending pilgrims are accurately captured on the electronic registration platform.
In a statement signed by its Head of Information and Communications, Faruku Umar, the agency said the progress underscored its commitment to delivering a well-organised, transparent and efficient registration process for pilgrims from the state.
It urged intending pilgrims who were yet to complete their registration requirements, particularly those who had not submitted valid international passports, to do so without delay.
The agency warned that late submission could create unnecessary challenges as the registration deadline approaches, stressing the importance of completing all requirements within the stipulated timeline.

It assured intending pilgrims that necessary measures were being implemented to facilitate a seamless registration process and prepare them adequately for the 2027 Hajj.
The agency also called on pilgrims to rely on official information from the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency and other authorised sources to guard against misinformation.
The development comes as states across Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2027 Hajj in line with the timelines set for the operation.
The agency appealed for continued cooperation from intending pilgrims, saying their prompt compliance with registration requirements would help officials complete the electronic capture process efficiently and minimise last-minute complications.
It reiterated its commitment to ensuring that Sokoto pilgrims are properly documented and ready for the next Hajj operation, while encouraging intending pilgrims to promptly provide outstanding documents and follow official registration procedures.
The agency said further updates would be communicated through its authorised channels as preparations for the 2027 Hajj progress.
