Sokoto Pilgrims Welfare Agency Mourns ICT Staff Nuratu Abubakar

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has announced the death of one of its staff members, Nuratu Abubakar, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) officer.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Agency’s Head of Information and Communications, Faruku Umar, disclosed that Abubakar died after a brief illness.
He stated that the Agency received the news “with a deep sense of sorrow and total submission to the will of Allah.”
According to the statement, her funeral prayer was scheduled for Friday, March 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Arkilla Layout, behind the Arkilla Eid Praying Ground in Sokoto, where family members, colleagues, and well-wishers were expected to gather for final rites.
In subsequently statement, Umar disclosed that the Chairman of the Agency, Aliyu Musa, led members of the Board, management, and staff to attend the funeral prayer.
He explained that the prayer took place at the Saad bn Waqqas Jumu’at Mosque, drawing a large number of faithful who offered prayers for the repose of her soul.
Describing the deceased, the Chairman said Abubakar was a committed and hardworking staff member whose contributions to the Agency would be greatly missed.
He added that her death represents a significant loss not only to the Agency but also to colleagues and associates who worked closely with her.
Both the Agency and its leadership prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and provide her family, friends, and colleagues with the strength to bear the loss.
