The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has participated in a high-level stakeholders’ meeting involving a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Nigerian Hajj stakeholders, organised by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The meeting, which took place at the NAHCON Conference Hall in Abuja, was attended by the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, and the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ, who represented the state at the engagement.

According to a statement signed by the Head of Information and Communications of the Agency, Faruku Umar, the meeting brought together key actors in the Hajj sector to deliberate on preparations and policy directions for the 2026 Hajj exercise, as well as to strengthen cooperation between Saudi Hajj authorities and Nigerian stakeholders.

Discussions at the meeting focused on improving Hajj operations, enhancing pilgrims’ welfare, and ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj exercise through effective collaboration and early planning.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by NAHCON and state pilgrims’ agencies to ensure efficient coordination and improved service delivery for Nigerian pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj.
