Saudi Embassy Advises Stranded Citizens in Nigeria to Seek Assistance

By Khadija Isma’il

The Saudi Embassy in Nigeria has urged Saudi citizens unable to travel because of flight disruptions at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to contact its Saudi Affairs unit for assistance.

In an advisory issued through its official X account, @KSAEmbassyNG, the embassy asked affected citizens to call 08033338231 to access necessary support and services.

The advisory follows disruptions affecting travel through Riyadh, which have left some passengers unable to reach their destinations or continue their journeys as scheduled.

In a related statement, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged citizens facing flight suspensions or delays to contact Saudi diplomatic missions in their host countries for assistance and guidance.

The ministry has called on its diplomatic missions worldwide to support affected nationals, including those stranded abroad, as authorities respond to the travel disruptions.

Depending on individual circumstances and available arrangements, the assistance may involve coordinating with airlines over alternative travel routes, rebooking flights and providing guidance on logistics. Emergency accommodation may also be necessary for citizens unable to continue their journeys.

Saudi citizens currently in Nigeria have been advised to contact the embassy in Abuja through its designated channels to obtain guidance on their travel arrangements and available support.

They should also keep their travel documents and booking information accessible and verify flight schedules with their airlines before proceeding to the airport.

The disruptions have raised concerns for travellers whose onward journeys depend on flights operating through affected Saudi aviation hubs.

However, the embassy’s advisory did not specify the scale of the cancellations, the number of Saudi citizens stranded in Nigeria or the assistance available to them.

The Saudi Embassy urged affected nationals to use its designated contact line to obtain the necessary assistance.

It concluded its statement with a prayer for the protection of Saudi Arabia from all evil and harm.
