The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the completion of extensive preparations for the 2026 Hajj season, unveiling a large-scale operational plan designed to ensure the safety, comfort, and smooth movement of millions of pilgrims expected to perform this year’s pilgrimage.

Saudi authorities said the preparations cover all major sectors connected to Hajj operations, including emergency response, transportation, sanitation, food safety, infrastructure, and crowd management across Makkah and the holy sites.

Under the operational plan, authorities will deploy more than 22,000 field personnel throughout the Hajj period, alongside over 3,000 vehicles and equipment units positioned strategically to ensure rapid response and uninterrupted services for pilgrims.

Authorities also said emergency teams would operate round the clock during the pilgrimage, while advanced laboratories and specialized inspection units would monitor public health standards, environmental safety, and food quality across all service areas.

As part of efforts to improve pilgrims’ experience, Saudi officials carried out major upgrades on roads, bridges, and tunnels leading to and within the holy sites.

Authorities also upgraded sanitation systems to maintain cleanliness and protect environmental health during the peak Hajj period.

They further strengthened food safety measures to ensure that meals and other consumable items provided to pilgrims comply with approved health and safety standards throughout the season.

The Kingdom noted that the preparations form part of its broader strategy to deliver a safer, more organized, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for pilgrims arriving from across the world.

Saudi authorities added that the comprehensive arrangements reflect the Kingdom’s continued commitment to serving the Guests of Allah with the highest standards of organization, safety, and care under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.

Millions of Muslims from different countries are expected to participate in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, one of the largest annual religious gatherings in the world.
