The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, announcing an open-door policy aimed at fostering stronger collaboration with Local Government Hajj Centre Officers across the state.

The Board’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Sulaiman Dederi, disclosed this in a statement.

Speaking during a strategic meeting with the officers, Matawalle emphasised that unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility were essential ingredients for a smooth and successful Hajj operation. He noted that effective coordination between the Board and Local Government Hajj Centres remains critical to delivering efficient services to intending pilgrims.

Drawing on his experience leading pilgrims on three separate occasions, the Director General said he is well aware of the demands and expectations that come with organising the annual pilgrimage.

He expressed optimism that, with dedication, discipline, and divine guidance, Kano State would continue to record remarkable successes in its Hajj operations.

“I have had the privilege of leading pilgrims three times, and I understand the responsibilities that come with it. With strong cooperation and commitment from our Local Government Hajj Centre Officers, we will continue to achieve successful Hajj exercises by the grace of God,” he said.

Matawalle assured the officers that his administration would remain accessible and responsive to their concerns, encouraging transparency, accountability, and inclusive decision-making processes.

The meeting also provided an avenue to deliberate on measures to improve coordination, enhance service delivery and strengthen communication channels between the Board and the Local Government Hajj Centers.

The Board reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the welfare, safety and spiritual fulfilment of all pilgrims from Kano State.
