The General Welfare Committee of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has initiated efforts to provide assistance to pilgrims who lost their funds during the ongoing 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

The committee, led by Malam Muhammad Sani Aliyu Zuru, has begun discussions with the affected pilgrims to explore possible measures that could help ease the financial difficulties resulting from the losses.

According to information made available by the committee, a total of 28 Kebbi pilgrims were affected.

The discussions are focused on assessing the extent of the losses suffered by the victims and examining available options for providing financial support, including the possibility of refunding part of the money lost.

Speaking during the engagement, committee chairman reassured the affected pilgrims of their commitment to safeguarding their welfare and ensuring that no pilgrim is left without support during the sacred journey.

He noted that the welfare of pilgrims remains a top priority and that every effort is being made to identify practical and sustainable solutions to the situation.

The initiative reflects the committee’s proactive approach to addressing challenges encountered by pilgrims and its determination to provide timely interventions whenever the need arises.

Committee members are expected to continue consultations and assessments before making recommendations on the level of support that can be offered.

Meanwhile, the affected pilgrims welcomed the intervention and expressed appreciation for the concern shown by the committee.

Many described the move as a source of relief and encouragement at a time when they are focused on fulfilling their religious obligations.

The General Welfare Committee plays a key role in coordinating welfare services for the state’s pilgrims throughout the Hajj period, ensuring their wellbeing and addressing issues that may arise during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
