Kano: Immigration Honours Matawalle for Pilgrims’ Passport Facilitation

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Passport Control Office, Farm Centre, Kano, has honoured the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, for his commitment to facilitating international passport processing for pilgrims.
The Immigration Service presented Matawalle with an Award of Appreciation in recognition of his efforts to assist intending pilgrims in obtaining their international passports without unnecessary difficulties or delays.
Presenting the award, the Passport Control Officer, Farm Centre, Kano, Alhaji Aliyu Hamisu Nguroje, commended Matawalle for his dedication to the welfare of pilgrims and his support for the activities of the Immigration Service.
Nguroje said the director general demonstrated exceptional commitment during the last Hajj exercise by ensuring that pilgrims received the necessary assistance throughout the passport application process.
He assured the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board of the continued support of the Passport Control Office in ensuring smooth and timely passport processing for pilgrims.

Responding, Matawalle thanked the Nigeria Immigration Service for the recognition, describing the award as an encouragement to intensify efforts aimed at improving the welfare and overall pilgrimage experience of Kano pilgrims.
He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with relevant government agencies, particularly the Immigration Service, to provide pilgrims with efficient and timely services.
Matawalle also pledged to sustain the board’s efforts to eliminate avoidable administrative bottlenecks that could affect pilgrims’ preparations for Hajj.
The recognition highlights the growing collaboration between the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Nigeria Immigration Service in facilitating travel documentation for intending pilgrims.
Matawalle thanked the Passport Control Office, Farm Centre, Kano, for the honour and expressed confidence that continued cooperation between both institutions would further improve services to Kano pilgrims.
