Kaduna Moves to De-risk 2026 Hajj Operations with Multi-Agency Strategy

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has activated a coordinated, multi-agency framework to mitigate operational risks and ensure a seamless 2026 Hajj exercise.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Ibrahim Datti, the move followed a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held Wednesday at the Hajj Transit Camp, Mando.
The session consolidated inputs from critical aviation, security, health, regulatory, and logistics institutions, signaling a shift toward integrated planning and execution.
The Agency positioned the engagement as a decisive step to pre-empt bottlenecks, enforce compliance, and streamline end-to-end pilgrim handling, from departure logistics to in-country coordination in Saudi Arabia.
Participants included the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Department of State Services (DSS), Flynas Airlines, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Others are the state Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nigerian Red Cross Society, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taj Bank, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), the Association of Pilgrims Luggage Loaders, and the Joint Aid Group (Islamic), among others.
Deliberations focused on tightening regulatory compliance, optimizing airlift and ground logistics, strengthening security architecture, and enhancing inter-agency data sharing.
Stakeholders also mapped contingency protocols to manage peak-period pressures and potential disruptions.
The Agency underscored zero tolerance for operational lapses, emphasizing that adherence to standards, disciplined coordination, and real-time decision-making will define the success metrics for the 2026 exercise.
It reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a safe, efficient, and well-structured pilgrimage, urging all partners to sustain momentum, maintain professional rigor, and execute within agreed timelines.
