Kaduna Governor Donates CNG Bus to Strengthen 2026 Hajj Operations

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reinforced preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise with the donation of a 38-seater hybrid Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus to the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
The vehicle, equipped with 30 additional standing spaces, brings its total capacity to 68 passengers per trip and is expected to significantly improve transportation logistics for intending pilgrims.
According to a statement issued by Ibrahim Datti, the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, the intervention will enhance operational efficiency, safety, and passenger comfort during the airlift and transit phases of the pilgrimage.
The development reflects the state government’s broader strategy to strengthen institutional support systems for Hajj operations while prioritizing the welfare of pilgrims.
Speaking during the presentation, Malam Muhammad Sagir, Director of Operations at Kaduna Line, who represented the state government, described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the governor’s people-focused governance model.
He noted that the administration remains committed to ensuring that all logistical frameworks for the Hajj meet established operational standards.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the agency’s Executive Chairman, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, the Director of Operations, Malam Abubakar Usman Yusuf, commended the state government for what he termed a timely and impactful intervention.
He stated that the addition of the bus would significantly boost the agency’s capacity to manage pilgrim transportation efficiently.
The agency also highlighted the environmental and economic benefits of adopting CNG-powered vehicles, noting that the initiative aligns with global best practices in sustainable transport while improving service delivery.
The donation builds on recent infrastructure upgrades at the Hajj Camp in Mando, where the state government constructed a tarred access road and carried out structural improvements aimed at enhancing the comfort of pilgrims during pre-departure activities.
The agency reaffirmed its readiness for the 2026 Hajj exercise, assuring intending pilgrims of efficient, safe, and high-quality services throughout the operation.
