Hajj 2026: Kano Urges Pilgrims to Submit Passport as Visa Process Begins

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that visa processing for the Hajj 2026 pilgrimage is set to commence calling on intending pilgrims who have not yet submitted their international passports to do so immediately, citing a fast-approaching deadline.
As earlier reported by hajj gazette, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had announced that process for acquiring Visa for the journey will commence on 6th February.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Board, Comrade Sulaiman Dederi, the call was made by the Board’s Director General, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, during the official flag-off of the Weekly Hajj Induction Course Exercise at the School for Arabic Studies in Kano.
He emphasized that the timely submission of travel documents is critical to ensuring a smooth and efficient visa process. In line with new requirements from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Danbappa clarified that Hajj visas for the 2026 season will be integrally linked to each pilgrim’s medical certificate and the official Nusuk platform.
During the event, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, underscored the importance of the ongoing induction courses. He urged all prospective pilgrims to attend regularly, stating that the program is designed to thoroughly educate participants on Hajj rites, regulations, and expected conduct. Lawan affirmed that consistent attendance is vital for a deeper understanding and a successful pilgrimage experience.
The Board advises all intending pilgrims from Kano State to comply promptly with the submission guidelines to avoid any delays in their visa processing and subsequent travel arrangements.
