Hajj 2026: Kano Pilgrims Board Inspects Facilities, Engages NAHCON in Makkah

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced an official Hajj inspection visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of early operational preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The inspection team is led jointly by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, and the Chairman, Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, alongside key management staff.
During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy and official engagement visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, at the Commission’s Ummuljud Office in Makkah.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Board, Comrade Sulaiman Dederi, the meeting focused on strategic alignment, inter-agency collaboration, and operational readiness ahead of the pilgrimage.
As part of the mission, the Board conducted a detailed inspection of pilgrims’ accommodation facilities in Makkah to assess standards of comfort, safety, and overall suitability for Kano State pilgrims.
The exercise is aimed at mitigating risks, closing service gaps, and ensuring value-for-money accommodation arrangements before final commitments are made.
Discussions during the engagement also covered critical operational areas, including accommodation logistics, welfare delivery frameworks, and coordination mechanisms between state pilgrims boards and NAHCON.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board reiterated its commitment to proactive planning, stakeholder engagement, and strict service delivery benchmarks, noting that the inspection visit is designed to guarantee a seamless, hitch-free, and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience for pilgrims from the state.
The Board emphasized that early inspections and high-level engagements remain central to its strategy of improving outcomes and safeguarding the interests of Kano State pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
