The Gombe State Hajj operation has entered a critical phase with the commencement of screening for the first batch of intending pilgrims ahead of their scheduled departure later today.

The screening exercise is ongoing at the state’s Hajj Camp located near the Gombe International Airport, where officials are carrying out final verification, documentation checks, and clearance procedures.

The Information Officer of the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mohammad Gabari Mohammad, confirmed that the first outbound flight will depart at approximately 3:00 p.m. today, officially marking Gombe’s entry into the 2026 Hajj airlift operations.

Officials are conducting pre-departure screening to ensure full compliance with travel requirements and to streamline boarding processes, in alignment with the national Hajj schedule.

The development underscores Gombe’s operational readiness as the broader airlift of Nigerian pilgrims gains momentum.
