BREAKING: NAHCON invites states’ medical team leads to  meeting on 2026 Hajj health planning

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has stepped up preparations for the 2026 Hajj by inviting state pilgrims’ welfare boards to present their medical team leaders for a key planning meeting.

The Hajj Gazette has obtained an invitation indicating that the meeting will occur on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The venue is the Conference Hall on the ground floor.

NAHCON said the meeting will focus on early healthcare planning for Nigerian pilgrims. Officials will also review new health guidelines issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj.

The commission stressed that early coordination will help medical teams meet Saudi Arabia’s strict health requirements. These rules usually cover compulsory vaccinations and other public health measures.

NAHCON has already begun groundwork for the 2026 Hajj medical operation. Earlier this month, the commission opened an online application portal for the National Medical Team. This step marked one of the first major operational activities ahead of the pilgrimage.

The commission has also released official guidance on Saudi health requirements for the 2026 Hajj. NAHCON said the move will strengthen compliance, improve medical readiness, and ensure better healthcare support for Nigerian pilgrims during the exercise.
