An aspirant for the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alfred John Attajiri, has announced the donation N7 million to intending Muslim pilgrims from the constituency as they depart for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
According to him, a total of 43 intending pilgrims from Balanga and Billiri Local Government Areas of Gombe state benefited from the support package.
He explained that the support was aimed at easing some of the financial challenges associated with the pilgrimage.
In a statement he personally signed, Attajiri said the intervention reflects his commitment to the welfare of the people and support for religious obligations within the constituency.
He added that although the assistance may not cover all the pilgrims’ expenses, it would provide relief and allow them to focus more on the spiritual significance of the Hajj.
He described faith as a strong force that continues to unite the people of Balanga and Billiri, stressing the importance of supporting citizens during significant religious activities.
Officials also urged the beneficiaries to pray for peace, unity, and development in Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, Gombe State, and Nigeria during the pilgrimage.
