The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has constituted a six-member Editorial Team to strengthen the management, verification and dissemination of information concerning the commission.
The team was constituted by the Acting Executive Chairman of the commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, who also serves as the District Head and Wakili of Gurin.
The initiative is aimed at improving the accuracy and consistency of information released by the commission, particularly across digital and social media platforms where information about Hajj activities and pilgrims’ welfare is increasingly disseminated.
Shareef Al-Hassan was appointed Editor-in-Chief, while Habiba Hassan Mohammed will serve as Managing Editor.
Other members of the editorial team are Safiya Bakari, Mikail Mubi, Aminu Abdullahi and Barkindo Abdullahi Yakubu.
The team is expected to review and verify materials relating to the commission before their dissemination, with the objective of reducing misinformation, ensuring proper context and improving public access to official information.

The development comes as government agencies and public institutions increasingly rely on digital platforms to communicate directly with citizens and stakeholders.
The editorial structure is also expected to provide a coordinated framework for the commission’s public communication, particularly on issues relating to Hajj preparations, pilgrim services, announcements and other activities.
In a statement on the development, Barkindo Abdullahi Yakubu, a Public Affairs Analyst based in Fuforeyel, Adamawa State, commended the Acting Executive Chairman for establishing the team.
He described the initiative as a step towards strengthening information management and promoting greater clarity in the commission’s communication with pilgrims and the general public.
The new editorial team is expected to commence work with a focus on ensuring that information released in the name of the commission is properly verified, contextualised and presented through appropriate channels.
