Adamawa Advance Team Arrives in Makkah Ahead of 2026 Hajj Pilgrims

The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has deployed and received its advance team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, ahead of the arrival of pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The team, constituted by the Acting Executive Chairman of the Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, arrived in the holy city with a mandate to finalise accommodation, feeding, and other welfare arrangements for intending pilgrims from the state.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Public Communications and Pilgrims Enlightenment of the Commission in Yola on Thursday, the advance team immediately commenced inspection and preparation of pilgrims’ accommodation facilities upon arrival.
The statement noted that the officials took custody of the designated buildings and began detailed assessments to ensure the facilities meet acceptable standards of comfort and functionality before the arrival of pilgrims.
It added that room allocation and preparation were already underway as part of efforts to guarantee a seamless and stress-free stay for pilgrims during the Hajj period.
The commission also disclosed that the team had begun coordinating feeding arrangements in collaboration with local service providers in Saudi Arabia to ensure pilgrims have access to nutritious and familiar meals throughout their stay.
Malam Salihu directed the team to prioritise the welfare and comfort of pilgrims and stressed the importance of efficient service delivery during the spiritual exercise.
The statement described the deployment as part of Adamawa State Government’s broader commitment to improving the Hajj experience for its citizens through early planning and effective logistical coordination.
It further stated that the preparations reflected the government’s determination to provide adequate support for pilgrims and ensure they perform the religious obligation under conducive conditions.
The 2026 Hajj airlift from Nigeria is expected to commence in phases ahead of the pilgrimage rites in Saudi Arabia.
