The Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has announced that the airlift of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise will commence on Monday, May 11, with Flynas Airline serving as the official carrier for the state.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Jibrin Usman Kodo on Thursday.

He stated that the airline would operate six flights to transport a total of 2,281 intending pilgrims from Niger State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage.

According to the statement, the inaugural flight will depart from Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport to Madinah with 345 pilgrims on board.

The first batch is expected to include pilgrims from Borgu and Chanchaga Local Government Areas of the state.

The Board advised intending pilgrims to maintain close contact with their Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers for updates on flight schedules and other travel arrangements.

It also urged pilgrims scheduled for the first flight to arrive at the Hajj camp by 7 a.m. to enable early screening and completion of departure formalities ahead of the airlift.

Aliyu assured pilgrims of a smooth and hitch-free operation, adding that the Board would ensure timely dissemination of information regarding flight schedules and other developments throughout the exercise.

He further advised pilgrims to monitor radio announcements and follow the Board’s official social media platforms for updates or possible adjustments to the flight timetable.
