Governor Yusuf Approves Key Committees for Kano 2026 Hajj Operations

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the constitution of key ad-hoc committees to coordinate the 2026 Hajj operations in Kano State as preparations for the airlift of pilgrims from the state gather momentum.
Public Relations Officer of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sulaiman A. Dederi, said the Director-General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, inaugurated the committees.
Speaking at the event, Matawalle said the Board constituted the committees to strengthen operational efficiency and ensure effective service delivery to pilgrims from the state during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
He described the appointments as a trust placed on the committee members by the Kano State Government, urging them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism and commitment.
According to him, the success of the Hajj operation depends largely on the dedication and coordination of personnel assigned to critical areas of the pilgrimage exercise.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yusuf Lawan, commended Governor Yusuf for approving the nomination of the ad-hoc staff selected for the various committees.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of the committee members to effectively carry out their assignments and prayed for divine guidance and strength in the discharge of their duties.
The inaugurated committees include the Media Committee headed by Mustapha Muhd, Medical Committee chaired by Dr. Ibrahim Musa Idris, Committee of Preachers led by Sheikh Tijjani Sani Maihula, and the Hajj Tribunal Committee headed by Ibrahim Haruna Khalil.
Others are the Environment Committee chaired by Dr. Mahmud Abba, Social Media Committee headed by Ishak Abdul, Hisbah Committee led by Malam Mujahideen Aminuddeen, and the Security Committee chaired by A.U. Umar.
The development signals the commencement of structured administrative and operational planning by the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage season.
