Kano Pilgrims Board Clears All Outstanding 2026 Hajj Refunds

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed the full disbursement of all outstanding refunds to intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this during an interview with journalists, stating that beneficiaries have received payments across approximately five batches.
He explained that the refunds represent the balance from the initial Hajj fare of N8.5 million, which was later reduced to N7,696,813. The difference has now been credited to affected pilgrims.
Matawalle advised any pilgrim yet to receive the refund to liaise with their respective banks or contact designated Hajj officers at the local government level for resolution.
He added that the Board has fully discharged its obligation regarding the refund process.
