2027 Hajj: NAHCON Withdraws Slots Allocated to Al-Firdaus Over Licensing Flaw
By Abdulrazaq Auwal
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has withdrawn the 2027 Hajj slots allocated to Al-Firdaus Hajj and Umrah Services Ltd after an internal review revealed flaws in the allocation process.
In a letter dated October 23, 2026, the commission said it discovered that the company had not formally applied for a licence and slot allocation for the 2027 Hajj within the stipulated registration period.
NAHCON said the review followed observations raised by the Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON), which prompted the commission to examine the circumstances surrounding the allocation.
According to the letter, the commission’s management directed the immediate withdrawal of all slots previously allocated to the company.

NAHCON added that it would return the withdrawn slots to the general allocation pool for redistribution among qualifying and duly licensed private Hajj operators under approved lead companies.
The commission described the action as necessary to address the flaw identified in the initial allocation process and ensure that the distribution of 2027 Hajj slots follows the applicable requirements.
The withdrawal comes as preparations for the 2027 Hajj continue, with private operators expected to meet the commission’s licensing and registration requirements.
NAHCON’s letter did not specify the number of slots withdrawn from Al-Firdaus. The company’s response to the decision was also not contained in the commission’s letter.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach Al-Firdaus Hajj and Umrah Services Ltd for comments on the development proved unsuccessful, as calls placed to the company’s known telephone numbers did not connect.
