2027 Hajj: Gombe Sets August 10 Deadline for Passport Submission

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed August 10, 2026, as the deadline for all intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid international e-passports as preparations for the pilgrimage gather momentum.
The directive, announced by the Information Officer of the Board, Mohammed Mohammed was issued by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Malam Sa’adu Hassan.
According to him, the directive requires all registered intending pilgrims to submit their travel documents to the Board’s office on or before the deadline to facilitate the timely processing of Hajj documentation.
The Board explained that early submission of e-passports would enable officials to complete the required documentation, capture pilgrims’ details on Saudi Arabia’s digital Hajj platforms, and meet timelines established by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to the Board, prompt compliance with the directive will help prevent delays in visa processing and other pre-departure procedures necessary for participation in the 2027 pilgrimage.
The Executive Secretary urged all intending pilgrims to ensure their e-passports are valid and ready for submission within the stipulated period, stressing that adherence to the deadline is crucial to the smooth execution of the Hajj registration process.

The Board also advised pilgrims not to wait until the last minute, noting that early submission would allow officials sufficient time to verify documents, address any discrepancies, and complete the necessary administrative procedures ahead of Saudi Arabia’s documentation schedule.
It reassured intending pilgrims of its commitment to ensuring a seamless and transparent Hajj preparation process, adding that officials remain available during working hours to provide guidance and assistance on passport submission and other registration requirements.
The passport collection exercise forms part of the Board’s broader strategy to conclude all documentation well ahead of schedule and position Gombe State pilgrims for a hitch-free participation in the 2027 Hajj.
The Board encouraged prospective pilgrims who require further clarification to visit its headquarters for assistance before the August 10 deadline.
