2026 Hajj: Kano Pilgrims Advised to Get Ready for Medical Screening

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on all intending pilgrims in the state to adequately prepare for the forthcoming medical screening exercise, warning that non-compliance will automatically disqualify applicants from the 2026 Hajj.
The directive was issued by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, during a supervisory visit to the Hajj Training Centre in Doguwa Local Government Area. He underscored the strategic importance of the ongoing Hajj training programme, describing it as the operational foundation of a successful pilgrimage.
Danbappa stressed that the training sessions are designed to equip pilgrims with practical knowledge of Hajj rites and other acts of worship, adding that effective preparation remains critical to smooth Hajj operations.
Represented by the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Murtala Lawan Sani, the Director General explained that the visit was part of the Board’s oversight responsibility to ensure that training exercises across local government areas comply with established standards and guidelines.
Sani further emphasized that participation in the medical screening exercise is compulsory, noting that any intending pilgrim who fails to undergo the screening will not be granted a Hajj visa. He urged pilgrims to approach the exercise with utmost seriousness, as it remains a non-negotiable requirement.
Providing operational insight, the Deputy Director from the Operations Department, Alhaji Faruk Musa Sani, disclosed that the 2026 Hajj differs significantly from previous years, with visas and medical certificates now being digitally integrated into the Saudi Nusuk platform.
He therefore advised all intending pilgrims who have not submitted their international passports to do so without delay, cautioning that late submission could result in exclusion from the Hajj process.
The supervisory tour also covered Hajj Training Centres in Tudun Wada Local Government Area, as the Board intensifies monitoring ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage season.
