2026 Hajj: Bauchi Begins Visa Processing After Completing Medical Certificate Upload
By Abdulrazaq Auwal
The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced visa processing for its intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
This followed the successfully completion of the upload of medical certificates for all registered pilgrims from the state.
The development marks a significant step in the state’s preparations for the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, as visa processing is one of the final documentation requirements before the commencement of airlift operations.
The Board’s Information Officer, Muhammad Nasir Bala, disclosed in an update provided to Hajj Gazette, noting that the process has already recorded substantial progress.
According to Bala, more than 1,000 visas have so far been processed out of the 2,500 confirmed intending pilgrims from Bauchi State who were earlier screened and cleared medically for the pilgrimage.
He explained that the successful upload of medical certificates for the pilgrims paved the way for the visa processing to begin, in line with the operational requirements set for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Bala further stated that the medical screening exercise was conducted to ensure that all intending pilgrims meet the health standards required for international travel and participation in the Hajj rites, which involve strenuous physical activities and large gatherings.
He noted that the board remains committed to ensuring that all necessary documentation for the remaining pilgrims is completed within the stipulated timeframe to avoid last-minute challenges.
The information officer also assured that the board is working closely with relevant authorities to ensure a seamless processing of visas and other travel documents for all pilgrims from the state.
Bauchi State is among the states with a relatively high number of registered pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise, with a total of 2,500 confirmed intending pilgrims expected to participate in the pilgrimage.
With the commencement of visa processing, preparations for the airlift of Bauchi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia are expected to progress steadily in the coming weeks.
