The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has inaugurated a committee to verify the personal records of intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj ahead of the anticipated commencement of visa processing.

The committee will be responsible for collecting, reviewing and verifying pilgrims’ data across the state’s 27 local government areas to ensure accurate documentation and effective coordination of the pilgrimage exercise.

According to statement issued by the Public Relations officer of the board, Habibu Yusuf Babur, the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahamed Umar Labbo, disclosed this during the inauguration of the committee at his office, stressing the importance of accurate data management in the preparations for the forthcoming Hajj.

Labbo said the committee at the Board’s headquarters would operate under the supervision of the Director of Operations, Mohammed Garba, with the Director of Administration and Finance, Mohammed Umar Sambo, and the Chief Accountant, Muntari Mohammed, serving as members.

He added that the committee would also comprise all zonal heads of the Board and their deputies to ensure comprehensive coverage and effective coordination of the verification exercise across the state.

The Director-General described the exercise as a critical component of the 2027 Hajj preparations, particularly with visa processing expected to commence in the coming period.
